Amanda FemanoYes, possible. We live on Hickam and i work on Hickam but my spouse works on Schofield. Since youre going against traffic to drive from Hickam to Schofield his commute is only 20-30 mins each way.

Kaitlin HurstYou'd be going against traffic so it shouldn't be so bad, but just FYI there isn't housing on the main base of Pearl Harbor. You can live on the Hickam side or Ford Island. Most Pearl Harbor housing is actually off base, just an FYI:).

Tiffany UlrichWe just got here too and I found that as long is it going against traffic, heading away from Pearl Harbor in the morning, it isn't that bad.

Denise Wilson StonerI live in Mililani Mauka (near Schofield, maybe 5 miles). Great neighborhood, great schools. Nice gym, pool & library at Schofield. Commissary too! Why go to Pearl Harbor? It's prettier and cooler up here. 🌴

Monica SchaeferI concur with Kailua! Kaneohe is a great place as well, with easy commute to Tripler. Full disclosure- I’m a real estate agent living in Kailua, so if you want MLS listings for those areas or any others, I am happy to send those to you. Whether renting or buying, homes here move crazy fast, so you really need access to active listings.

Kim BrownWe lived in Honolulu a few years ago. Halawa was a nice area close to tripler. Kailua is also very nice. It’s further away from tripler but The highway down to tripler didn’t have much traffic last time I remember. We lived there a few years ago so not sure how much has changed since then.

Dan N Lauren WilliamsIsland palm communities handle the AMR, Redhill and Shafter housing. I'm not sure of your rank but Shafter is officer housing, Shafter flats is JNCO, AMR is all ranks and I'm not 100% sure on redhill. All are super close to Tripler. I live on Shafter and a lot of my neighbors work at Tripler. If you're FGO then Tripler has housing and IPC handles that as well.

Hannah PyeWe love to go eat good food and listen to good music at Honey's in Kaneohe when Ledward Kaapana is in town. www.ledkaapana.com/concerts.htm (Disclaimer: the service is just ok but the food and music are great!)

Paola HernandezYou can hand carry everything. We did. We got there as soon as they opened and we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. I didn’t mail anything in because I was too paranoid that they would lose his paperwork so we just hand carried

Heather Koutnik BushHand carry the stuff and you'll be okay 🙂 but pay attention to when the office hours are!!! Between the time I landed, got my baggage, and got over to the office they told me I needed to pick up tomorrow over at quarantine which is just down the road. One night lodging, no big deal 🙂

Laura BrockJust hand carry it, they have the rules in place to make pick up faster. It will just take a few extra minutes for them to review your paperwork on the spot.

Mika LocalI would call them. I think you will just process a little longer but not sure. It can take a while to pick up your pet but it's much faster if you can send it ahead of time. Make sure you give the animal quarantine at least 1 hour to pick up the pet from the airline when it lands so they can bring it to the facility for processing. They make you stand outside in the hot sun until they buzz you in. Hawaii Airport Animal Quarantine number (808) 837-8092. Here is the airport map when you go to pick up your pet hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/files/2013/01/Map-to-AAHQF-2009.pdf
